Waiting on the Ornate Hawk-eagle
For several years, a pair of Ornate Hawk-eagles has nested along the Little Chan Chich Creek near where it is joined by the Sac Be Trail. A good place to look for it is at the suspension bridge. We unfortunately missed this spectacular bird, which, during our stay, was seen soaring near the Lodge by several of the Chan Chich staff.
