The top of Hidden Valley and 1000-Foot Falls is a favored perching place of the rare Orange-breasted Falcon. We were fortunate to find one near the head of the falls on 6 October 1999. From this vantage, one can also see the unique transition from pine forest at higher elevations to broad-leafed jungle below.
